Meet Our Team
Founder & CEO
Kirsten MacArthur MS, LADC, SAP, CAMT, LADC-I, CAC
Kirsten is the founder and CEO of Chrysalis Recovery Center, LLC (CRC-IDCMP), which opened in April 2009.
She has been licensed as a substance abuse counselor in 5 different states (AZ, MA, NH, VT, ME) since 2004, and has been working in substance abuse services since 1997. She is a Certified Anger Management Trainer (CAMT) and is Certified as a SAP - Substance Abuse Professional for the Department of Transportation for DOT Evaluations and Counseling. Kirsten is currently licensed in NH (#0831), Maine (#CAC8695), Vermont (#151.01347TELE), and Massachusetts (LADC-I #23451).
Kirsten is currently a graduate student at New England College in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. She holds a Master's in Business from New England College (2007), a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, and an Associate's degree in Addiction Studies.

Director
Sarah Haxhija BA, LADC, CRSW, IDEP, IDSP
Sarah is a licensed alcohol and drug counselor (LADC) and a certified recovery support worker (CRSW). She graduated from NHTI, majoring in addiction counseling with a certificate in mindfulness. She continued her education at SNHU, earning her bachelor's degree in psychology. Sarah is currently a graduate student at New England College, pursuing a degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.​

Sarah previously worked as the Program Director of an IDCMP, where she held various roles over the course of eight years. At Chrysalis, she is currently conducting our IDCMP evaluations, teaching the IDEP class, and seeing counseling clients.​ We are thrilled to have Sarah join Chrysalis on her journey.

Clinical Director / Clinician
Shawna Otis LCMHC, MLADC, CYP, MS
Shawna holds a Master's degree in Counseling from Plymouth State University and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Granite State College. She is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) #2469 and a Master Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (MLADC) #1528 in the state of New Hampshire. Shawna worked for Chrysalis from January 2019 to March 2022, and then returned as clinical director in 2025 - and we are so happy she is back!

Her experience includes working within the college system, working with children and teens in various settings, and working in outpatient settings with mental health and substance use disorders (SUD).
Shawnas is an excellent therapist for all ages, and her ability to assist our counselors in growth is invaluable to CRC.

Admissions / Case Manager / Intake Coordinator
Denielle Marcoux (working towards CRSW)
Denielle has three years of experience working with NH IDCMP programs, so she is well-versed in the laws and rules of NH IDCMPs, which really helps our clients. She is currently enrolled at SNHU, where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.
She makes the process for both DWI clients and counseling clients easy to enroll in and quickly answers all questions. Clients adore her kindness and the consistency with which she promptly answers all calls, messages, emails, etc. Denielle wears many hats, including admissions, reception, case manager, and intake coordinator at CRC.
She has submitted her CRSW to the board and is pending approval at this time.

Kathy Duval
Kathy has worked at Chrysalis and within the IDCMP business for over five years. After working at Chrysalis from 2017 to 2021, she returned in 2024, and we are so happy she is back! She is a thoughtful, helpful, and patient guide, assisting people in navigating the IDCMP program or transitioning into the programs they need.

If clients have any questions about the IDCMP process or the services Chrysalis offers, Kathy is the one to ask.

Alyse Fusco BA, LADC, AS
Alyse holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Keene State College and an Associate's degree in Addictions. Alyse is currently a graduate student at New England College's Clinical Mental Health Counselor program.

She has worked in residential substance abuse treatment for several years and is excited to transition to outpatient care at Chrysalis. Clients gain a significant amount of self-awareness and self-love after working with her.​​​ Clients appreciate the approach she takes in her work with them as a therapist. We are thrilled to have such a vibrant counselor working with us at Chrysalis!

Donna Breault MS, MLADC
Donna completed her Master's in Counseling from Plymouth State University in 2022. She obtained her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Granite State College in 2012 and her Associate's degree in Addiction Counseling from NHTI in 2008.

She has worked in impaired driver programs and counseling agencies, both inpatient and outpatient, since 2007.
​
Donna is an IDEP-impaired driver education provider and an IDSP-impaired driver service provider. She is currently licensed in Vermont and New Hampshire as a master-level addiction counselor (MLADC) #1542. We are fortunate to have Donna as part of our team!

Penny Keller BA, LADC
Penny holds a Bachelor's degree in psychology and an Associate's degree in behavioral health from Granite State College, and is a New Hampshire-licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) #1125.

Her experience includes working in residential SUD treatment programs, MAT treatment programs, and outpatient treatment.

Compliance Manager I
Kyle MacArthur
​Kyle is responsible for doing the compliances, non-compliances and completions for the IDCMP program and he ensures everyone has completed all aspects of the program and helps staff ensure compliance with the rules that govern IDCMP. He has worked within the IDCMP since 2013, so he can answer almost any question you have about the IDCMP process and steps. He has trained all of our Intake Coordinators and been one himself for many years.
Kyles background is that he worked for years in collections and college admissions and banking for about 6 years before becoming a carpenter/contractor. He spent almost 10 years in the Boston Carpenters Union before joining Chrysalis.​

George Bortnick PhD, MLADC, SAP, CAMP, IDSP
George has a PhD in General Psychology and a Master's in Human Services. He is a master's licensed alcohol and drug counselor (MLADC) and an impaired driver service provider (IDSP), and he is certified in anger management (CAMT). He is also a SAP - Substance Abuse Professional for DOT or safety-sensitive SAP evaluations. He is certified in EMDR and also enjoys running groups.

He has been a college professor for a number of years, he has worked in drug court for a number of years, he has spent years in substance abuse and mental health treatment, and he has also had a private practice for the past 15 years and has worked in a wide range of treatment services. George is currently licensed in NH MLADC #1011, Vermont #151.0134187TELE, and Maine LADC#LC8802.

DWI (IDEP) Class Instructor​
Jen MBA (working towards PhD) - Prime for Life Instructor
Jen is our weekend WIDEP instructors. Prior to COVID she ran our weekend program, and now she teaches zoom IDCMP course.
She has been teaching prime for life for more than 20 years and does a wonderful job making the weekend overnight program fun, educational and welcoming. She even does a fire on Saturday nights if you are staying overnight at the Northwood WIDEP!
Jenn has her MBA and she also is completing on her PhD in Clinical Psychology.
Jen is an IDEP - Impaired Driver Education Provider.
